MY PODCAST

Revelling in the divine lilac blossoms that surrou Revelling in the divine lilac blossoms that surround my little cottage. I like to have a few sprigs of lilac in a vase in my bedroom-it doesn’t take much to scent the whole room with its intense spicy floral fragrance! 💜 I’ve also been making a batch of lilac sugar for our farm to fork supper club, I find lilac sugar is the best way to really capture and preserve the scent although I have had success with syrups as well. Have you been enjoying the lilacs? Do you have any favourite recipes to share? In other news I am putting the finishing touches to my notes for my Slow Parenting workshop which I am sharing on my Rooted Membership this month. I am really excited to dive into this topic as it’s something that is very important to my life and how I approach the world of parenting and motherhood. 🌞And with summer on its way I’ve been doubling down on preparing our rituals, activities and celebrations to keep us going over the next few months. If you’re interested in the topic please do consider coming and joining Rooted or otherwise I do have some lovely past episodes on my podcast that are worth listening to as well. 🌸

This week I’m teaming up with Nature Friendly Fa This week I’m teaming up with Nature Friendly Farming Week (run by @nffnuk ) to give away a copy of my book (alongside brilliant books from @claireratinon @ourisles @sarahlangfordwrites @lynbreck_croft @vickihird and @rspb). Nature Friendly Farming Week highlights how farming can be done in harmony with nature and when done well is vital in restoring and protecting our environment. It’s a great time to learn more about nature friendly farming (all the feature books are a great place to start too) and to find a nature friendly farmer near you to support 👩🏻‍🌾 To enter the giveaway pop over to @nffnuk and enter over there! Good luck! As active members ourselves of the @nffnuk the theme of this week is very close to my heart so I’ll be sharing more about farming and nature throughout the week too! 💚

Doing some farm girl yoga on my morning walk today Doing some farm girl yoga on my morning walk today. Feels SO good to be moving my body after a couple of days of being in bed with tonsillitis! Everything seems extra glorious in comparison although I’m not sure I’d recommend yoga in Chelsea boots and jeans 😂

Flashback to that time I became a mummy to a baby Flashback to that time I became a mummy to a baby starling. I can truely say I was in my element 😂 (yes sorry for the baby talk!) Tweet Tweet was so amazing, he would find me wherever I was on the farm, all I had to do was call his name and he’d find me (and land on my head!). Sadly one day he disappeared. I like to think he found a mate and rewilded himself ❤️

This morning was a glorious day to be in the garde This morning was a glorious day to be in the garden, it started out with hearing the local cuckoo for the first time this year-one of the things I really treasure! Then I spotted my first orange tip butterfly! The bluebells are well and truly up now reminding me that spring is on its last month already (how?!). We have so many planted along the path to the polytunnel so I get to admire them daily. Talking of flowers I am completely tulip crazy this year 🌷my @farmergracy bulbs have all come up now and they are glorious! I’m getting armfuls to decorate the house with and it’s bringing me so much joy! I’ve never been one for growing many flowers apart from some cosmos but I think I’ve finally been bitten by the bug and I’m already thinking about what I could grow next. Any suggestions? I’ve always been put off by our climate which is very windy, being pretty coastal, but I am very open to ideas so please do send me any recommendations of favourite blooms! 🌸🌺🌻
