I’m not a coffee drinker, not out of lack of will of trying, but rather my adrenals cannot cope with that intense hit of caffeine. So, I’m always on the look out for more gentle alternatives. Enter the superfood latte. I came across the idea a while ago via Earthsprout who had posted up a delicious looking superfood latte packed with lovely herbal powders. The idea stuck and I began to experiment with various herbs. As spring got underway and the nettles began to flourish the Nettle Latte was born. Nettle really is a local superfood, something I chat about in great detail on my podcast. It’s an entire body tonic, safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mamas and wonderful if you’re in need of a boost. This latte will be a far better way to start the day over a cup of coffee.
Nettle Latte Recipe
1 tsp fine nettle leaf powder
1 cup of hot milk
1 tsp raw honey (optional)
In a high speed blender blitz the nettle and milk together until completely combined. Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy!
