The CLA Game Fair (or any other game fair or country show) is the best time to dig out your tweeds and give them an outing before the season starts again. Whether it’s sun or rain there’s a shape and style to suit. Hard wearing and water resistant it’s the perfect fabric to keep you snug all day long. I love the heritage behind tweed and it’s practicality too! Anyway, tweed loving aside here are my suggestions on What to Wear for the Game Fair and a guide to the best shops for country clothing.

SUN:

A bit of sun is the perfect time to don your tweed skirt and a pair of knee high boots (Dubarry, Fairfax & Favour and Really Wild all make my favourites). Team with a crisp cotton shirt for a perfect country appropriate outfit.

RAIN:

Wellies are a must as rain means mud (Sporting Hares do gorgeous ones), also I advise bringing your waxed jacket to keep dry and toasty.

BRITISH WEATHER:

So it’s going to rainy and sunny? Then why not wear a pretty tweed gilet from Indigo Ivy and some smart spanish riding style boots (see Fairfax & Favour’s Explorers). Also Cordings slim for trousers are a perfect addition-their smart and practical and come in loads of colours.
